Zootopia hits different when you watch it like a detective instead of a casual viewer, and that’s exactly what we do with a drink in hand. While we sip a Pink Himalayan cocktail inspired by Yak and Yeti at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, we rewatch Zootopia and keep stopping to ask one question: how did they fit this many jokes and references into one Disney animated film?

We break down why the movie works as a buddy cop comedy first, then turns into a meme-speed comedy machine on rewatches. From blink-and-you-miss-it visual gags to big, obvious homages, we trade notes on Easter eggs and movie references that range from The Shining to Mission Impossible, plus Disney self-roasts, callback lines, and hidden background details that reward pausing the screen. If you love Zootopia on Disney Plus, animation trivia, and spotting tiny signs and prop jokes, this one is basically a scavenger hunt.

Then we zoom out to the big fandom questions: should Disney build Zootopia lands in the parks, where would it fit best, and what do those sequel teases really mean for a potential Zootopia 3? We also talk chemistry, will-they-won’t-they storytelling, and why Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps stay so rewatchable as a duo.

If you like the show, subscribe, leave a review, and share this with a friend who always catches the reference you missed.

Pink Himalayan Drink Setup

SPEAKER_01

Today we're talking Zootopia 2 while drinking a pink Himalayan from Yakin Yeti. Welcome to Tears to Ears. We're gonna click our drinks. We're gonna toast. We're gonna talk dinner.

SPEAKER_02

And get our tears to it.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, now we're back. Hello. Hello. Good afternoon. Pink Himalayan.

SPEAKER_01

Pink Himalayan. Tell us about this. It's made with forged gin, ruby red grapefruit juice, passion fruit and exotic citrus flavors, and a salt rim, and it is sold for$14 at Animal Kingdoms Yakineti.

SPEAKER_00

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

No salt rim for us. No salt rim ever. We're not salt rim guys. We've done it a few times. We might if it looks pretty sometime again. Yeah. But it's just not. We don't need it.

SPEAKER_00

I don't need that crap. Nice, nice decor. So the way we made this, two ounces of Bombay gin, two ounces of ruby red grapefruit juice, and I did one ounce of Portland passion fruit and citrus syrup. And there we go. It has a You said a pie taste is what you like either a strawberry rhubarb pie or a peach cobbler.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I like that the uh the uh exotic citrus flavors. Yeah, they hide the uh the grapefruit of the grapefruit juice. It sweetens that up.

Cocktail Recipe And Flavor Notes

SPEAKER_00

It does, but it's it's a good drink. It's still got a little bit of that bitterness at the tail end that like if a lot of times if you're eating peach pie or peach cobbler, it'll have that bitterness. It will.

SPEAKER_01

You're right.

SPEAKER_00

And so it has that, but I'm thinking the front flavors, it really reminds me of a strawberry rhubarb pie. So you could probably get away with calling this a strawberry rhubarb pie cocktail. And I think people would, oh my gosh, it tastes exactly like strawberry rhubarb pie.

SPEAKER_01

Maybe, especially if it's in their mind when they start drinking it.

SPEAKER_00

That's why I'm thinking you could just call it that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but what we're doing is what we just talked about, moving away from our winter type drinks. Yes, moving into this is more this is springier drink.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we'd done a lot of fruity drinks, and I wanted to get away from those. And we did. So we had a lot of different types of cocktails, and now fruity drinks sound really good.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so this one's pretty fruity and it tastes, but it's not like ultimate fruity, like something you would get the grapefruit. Like sit on the beach drink. This isn't a total sit on the it's sit at the bar near the beach drink.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. This is this doesn't have that where it's just really sweet, overly sweet. And I'm you're well behind me on that.

SPEAKER_01

Well, no, we have a whole episode to do that.

SPEAKER_00

The drinking of the cocktail.

SPEAKER_01

You like to enjoy it.

SPEAKER_00

I do too. I just like to enjoy it quickly.

SPEAKER_01

I have something to sip on while you're chanting about Zootopia 2.

Why Zootopia Works So Well

SPEAKER_00

Zootopia 2. So the latest new movie to hit Disney Plus, as Hopper comes out in the theaters, which I have yet to see. It I I've tried to go a couple times. Hasn't worked out, hasn't worked out. It's emergency or last minute runs out of town. And yeah, yeah, so we can I need to just drive down in the middle of the day, be that weird guy who goes to the noon show on Thursday.

SPEAKER_01

That's what I do because of my work schedule.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, what are you doing at noon tomorrow?

SPEAKER_01

Maybe we should just both go. We'll talk about it. Yeah, see if that's a possibility. But yeah, we did a Zootopia review early on. Did we? Yeah, I know it's been two years ago.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe that's why we had the Yakki Yakin Yeti.

SPEAKER_01

Maybe that's maybe.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. We've done a lot of Animal Kingdom related episodes. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And so yeah, we did a Zootopia. That's when we I think we started our our take on movies reviews. Instead of we tried to review Apple Dumpling Gang.

SPEAKER_00

We did Frozen One and Two.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so we we started a whole our trend of reviewing them in our way. Yes, not a serious review, good movie, bad movie.

SPEAKER_00

No, although this is a good movie.

SPEAKER_01

We're gonna go good movie off the bat and just yeah, it's a good movie.

SPEAKER_00

It's gotta be it made$1.866 billion. Oh, you're a stat guy.

SPEAKER_01

I just have funny stuff. I don't really have any stats.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I've got some funny stuff. You got lines, yeah. I got some lines, and yeah. I got questions that we'll address at the end.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, good.

SPEAKER_00

Questions.

SPEAKER_01

I like questions. Yeah. I don't know if I like answers. I don't always have answers.

SPEAKER_00

One of these we won't want to answer. Okay. You might know. I I'll answer it because I think it's um, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So what I here's what I thought of the movie. So to bro I broke down in percentages of what it was. Okay. I think it was a 40% buddy cop movie. Yeah, yeah, 30% meme compilation. Yeah. 20% Disney roasting itself. Yes. And 10% actual plot with a plot optional for the movie. I think it was more of a plot. It had a 10% plot. There were jokes on every everything was a joke. Every line was a joke.

SPEAKER_00

This is true, but now you've only got 90% though.

SPEAKER_01

40, 50, 60, 70, 80. No. 40%, 30%, 20%.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, 30, 20, and 10. I thought you said 40, 20, 20, and 10.

SPEAKER_01

No. So that's my breakdown.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And my math could have been wrong. Just as easy as it could have been wrong. Also.

SPEAKER_00

So I broke mine. Of course, we just said we're gonna review Zootopia 2, and then we stopped talking about it because there's really no point. We're just gonna come up with what we want. So I had questions, my categories, questions, references, both movie and like pop culture, Easter eggs, or things that I Easter eggs or funny little sight gags. Yeah, that's all I have. Great lines and voices, because this had some interesting pe voice actors in it, as far as on those little side parts.

Movie References Spotting Marathon

SPEAKER_01

So why don't you why don't you drive this discussion? Okay, and we'll just discuss because I have I might have the same things you have in my Easter eggs and my little lines I have.

SPEAKER_00

So references. Okay. There's the Coca-Cola bear. Okay. I did not see that one. He at the end when Paw Pet the Lynx. Oh, and there will be spoilers in this. It just has to be.

SPEAKER_01

There's lots of spoilers, probably.

SPEAKER_00

So Pa, the lynx, it's helping them, who betrays them at the end. Uh-huh. When he jumps on the little snowmobile, he steals it from a bear and then they starts drinking a Coca-Cola.

SPEAKER_01

Didn't even realize that.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

I watched it two and a half times trying to see everything.

SPEAKER_00

Huge Burning Man reference. Yes. Yeah, Burning Man. Hungry, hungry hippo reference. Yes. Yeah, that was funny. Because that's a blink and you miss it reference. So there's the Duke Weaselton scene where he's selling videos. Oh yeah. With all those crazy But Frozen Tangled, Indiana Jones, and the Temple of Doom are the three movies. They have scenes from all of those movies in the movie. Oh. That they copied. So Temple of Doom, remember when they escape after the party and they're riding down that hill on the carpet? That was the scene from Temple of Doom when they're riding on the raft. Oh, yeah. So there was that. Frozen is when he walks out. It was Anna and Elsa's boyfri boyfriend, the guy she was going to marry, the prince. So during the snowstorm was that copied. And Tangled is when he smacks the pigs, smack him with the frying pan. Oh. Scene. Huh. Because Rapunzel smacks Flynn Ryder with a frying pan. Oh. So didn't even pick those up. All of those copied. But there was also a ratatouille. Right. That was a funny one. That was an easy one. A Back to the Future.

SPEAKER_01

Which was the Back to the Future.

SPEAKER_00

When they were when they go to the jail and he goes, What are you looking at, Budhead? He's giving them the Noogie. I did, yeah, I did see that. What's funny is that Fox was actually voiced by Michael J. Fox.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, really?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, did not know that.

SPEAKER_00

I know. And then, of course, the one you I'll get to this one, but there was also one from Pulp Fiction.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

So when they stab the anti-venom into her heart. So that scene with in pulp pulp fiction, babe, that'll do, pig. That'll do. Yeah. So they use that line out of babe. I think the whole movie gave more dirty hairy vibes, especially in the chase scene. That part of the city. And her apartment just gave dirty hairy vibes. Okay. From the movies. I'm a fan of those movies.

SPEAKER_01

And then you'd have a reference to some kind of action flick.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Silence of the lambs when Bellwether in the room cell that she's in. And then, of course, the best one was when they put in a reference to The Shining.

SPEAKER_01

Which one was that?

SPEAKER_00

When Pa was walking through that out in the snow in that big maze. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Total shining. Scene for scene, all the cutaways. Hilarious. I saw that in the theater. Because I went and saw this when it was still in the theater. I was just laughing hysterically at it. And I'm thinking I think I was the only one who got it in the entire theater. Because nobody else was laughing. I'm like, it's the shining in a Disney movie, a reference and stuff. So that was fun. That was hilarious.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, for movie references, I had the Fast and the Furious opening.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

The whole opening chase scene. Oh, yeah. Straight out the license plates were all like Disney movies. Uh-huh. Straight out of Fast and Furious. The sloth recreates the entire Matrix thing, but in real time. Oh yeah. He does a real-time matrix. Yeah. And then the Mission Impossible rope scene when he drops down on the thing of yarn. Oh, he's straight out of Mission Impossible, except for the rope broke in this one. Oh. Yeah. And then at the Reptile Land. At the Reptile Land, it was total Shrek. Was it? Yeah, the guy says the reptile says was yelling about keeping his privacy the whole time. And back behind him, there was a sign that said, Get out of my swamp.

SPEAKER_00

Oh. Straight out of Shrek. Okay, I didn't even see that one. Not a Disney movie. Not a Disney movie. Throwing that out there. Of course, a lot of these were not a Disney movie. This is the when I had mentioned it made$1.866 billion. Uh-huh. Number nine all time. Eight or nine. Yeah. And that's crazy. Disney owns the intellectual the IP for eight out of ten of the top ten movies. Wow. Because I think they own Avatar.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah. But they wouldn't have a whole land if they didn't.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I mean, for Indiana Jones for a while, they didn't own Indiana Jones. They had to pay royalties.

SPEAKER_01

Well, they didn't have Star Wars when they first opened this. When they first opened Star Tours.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, this is true.

SPEAKER_01

I can't think of man. I drove like some of the easiest things on this podcast the last couple of times.

SPEAKER_00

So those were all my references that I picked up in the movie. Those are cool. Yeah. Those are cool.

SPEAKER_01

And those are all the one. I had a rat at two yet, also, but those are all the ones I had.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. And there's probably more.

SPEAKER_01

Probably a million more.

SPEAKER_00

There's probably a million.

SPEAKER_01

In every line.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

It seems like the movie cadence, the whole cadence of every scene and the how they wrote the script was to set up. Yes. Set up a joke, right? Yeah. Tell the joke. And then tell another joke on top of the joke.

SPEAKER_00

And then tell another.

SPEAKER_01

And then the next line is another setup for the next joke. And they just went on and on. That writer's room must have been hilarious.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. Yeah, I think so.

SPEAKER_01

And that's and that if it makes that much money, then maybe that's where they should do movies. I should be a crap ton of references in every movie.

Hidden Easter Eggs You Missed

SPEAKER_00

I think so. I think those easter eggs are hilarious. Oh, yeah. Now, I did see that, and this was a little disappointing that Hopper, which I've heard is really good, has only made$90 million in the first two weeks. Oh, it's not doing well. A little bummed about that because that one looks hilarious. It's not doing it. But anyway, darn it. So now into Easter eggs and just kind of little funny points that people might not pick up on. Let's do it. So in the first movie, you remember his Nick's sidekick, that other little fox that he has who was his son. Okay, that's a fennec fox. Which is, I don't know, a species, not a species of fox, but it's a type of fox that has huge ears. And so that's I thought that was really funny because they're using a fox with huge ears and they're pretending like it's a bunny's and a fox's child. Oh, yeah. Yeah. So something that not picking up on, I don't think. That I don't think a lot of people picked up on. The and this is one I saw scrolling through Instagram one day. The there's a scene where Clawhauser is trying to like break into the guy's computer and the password is stuck on a post-it note. That is the possible release date of the third movie. Oh Zootopia 3. That's funny. So you have to stop it and look at it, but in this like IG reel, they said that this is because they said why that's the third movie, which is in 2028 or 2029. I can't remember. That makes sense. Yeah. When they steal the pig's car. Yes. And they're in the scene. No nitrous oink side was written on it. Hilarious. The okay, so Frufru. She is the daughter of Mr. Pig. And so she operates the when they go to that purse factory. Did you catch the name of that purse factory? I don't remember it now. The legitimate purse factory. As they're making knockoff purses. That's funny. So I was laughing at that one because that's one I just picked up when I watched it again today.

SPEAKER_01

That's funny. And that's the actual, probably the actual name of a purse factory, like a China.

SPEAKER_00

The legitimate purse company, yes. That sounds like a store. Yeah. They would have put in a mall. So not fake clothes. Yes, not fake clothes. Legitimate.

SPEAKER_01

Not stolen goods, pawn shop.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly. And yeah. Fru fru, the daughter. Both plot lines greatly aided by a pen.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. A pen that happens to be the antidote or the anti-phantom. And then in the first one, it was the care that they could record with. Right. So there you go. Did you pick up on any little tidbits that were funny, extra funny to you?

SPEAKER_01

Right. So I saw a couple and I didn't write them down as I was watching it. Oh. So I did this just by watching a movie, writing stuff down as I watched it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's what I did too.

SPEAKER_01

She has something on an iPad or something. She had a password.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

A different, like a different a saying like it says cop of the year 2.0 or something like that.

SPEAKER_00

That was on her iPad?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so it was a reference to the last movie in this movie. Okay. And it said it said sequels are harder. Oh. On the pad.

SPEAKER_00

I totally missed that.

SPEAKER_01

A post-it note that said sequels are harder. Something around that. I don't have the exact quote.

SPEAKER_00

This is one that, like, if you watched it ten times, you would be picking up. Because that's what I did the third time I watched it. Is I was really looking at all of the writing. Like, I wasn't looking at the scene, the action that was going on. I was looking at signs behind them. I was looking at all the stuff. Right. Because I wanted to see those Easter eggs.

Best Lines And Voice Cast

SPEAKER_01

I might do that and watch it one more time like that and look for things. And then I'm just gonna I'm gonna watch like a an Instagram reel. Yeah. That will show it all or a post. Something like that. Small reel that will show everything. Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna do that. And that's what everyone's going to do. I we should have done that. We should have had all the stuff. We should have concentrated on that, and we could have just had a whole here's all the stuff from Disney. Yeah. Here's all the stuff from Zootopia, but we didn't do that.

SPEAKER_00

This is true. The uh I lost my train of thought there. Whoa. Oh but what's next? Okay, great lines. Great lines. Give them to us. So I had two to tango, but a threesome to be something.

SPEAKER_01

They said it like three times, too.

SPEAKER_00

No, they said different versions. Okay. So two to tango, but a threesome to be something. Then it was a threesome to be something, uh. But a four-way to bust a doorway.

SPEAKER_01

Man, they're not very G-rated here, are they?

SPEAKER_00

No, they were not. And that was Nibbles. The the which so that character was hilarious.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, very good character.

SPEAKER_00

She is a hilarious and I looked her up after I when Michaela and I were watching or first. Fortune, is that her first name?

SPEAKER_01

Yes. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Hilarious comedian. She was in Christmas office party. She was the Uber driver. Okay. She's what yeah. Just Carol!

SPEAKER_01

Carol, are you Carol? There were there were seemed like there were some office references too. There might have been. Like they would go to a character and he would do like a gym, like the comp like they would zoom in on a character just like a gym face. Does that seem like it was right? I can't remember as many. Probably every show.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. They were probably putting in so many to see if anybody could pick up on all of them.

SPEAKER_01

I want to I want the next one to be all 80s sitcom references.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, there you go.

SPEAKER_01

Like a Cheers reference.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

The rabbit walks in.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah. That would be that would have to be a Pixar because it'd have to include John Ratzenberger in it.

SPEAKER_01

So another he's not allowed to do Disney too.

SPEAKER_00

He can only do Pixar. Well, that's the thing. So I have that down. Is so Alan Tudic, he was Duke Weaselton. He played like four characters. He voiced four characters. But he is the John Ratzenberger of Disney movie. He is in every Disney movie. Everything. But John Ratzenberger is in every Pixar movie.

SPEAKER_01

Is he still?

SPEAKER_00

Yes. He still tracks. Now he might not be. I don't know how old he's gotten, or I don't know if the streak broke.

SPEAKER_01

I know years ago he was.

SPEAKER_00

I think it's still going.

SPEAKER_01

Let's look that up. We have some stuff to look up on after this.

SPEAKER_00

I think so. So Judy and Frufrew swap lines from the first movie.

SPEAKER_01

Oh.

SPEAKER_00

So in the first movie, Judy saves her from being crushed. And says, and Judy says, You have a beautiful dress. Oh, thank you. In this movie, Frufru goes, You have a beautiful that's a beautiful dress. Right. And Judy goes, Oh, thank you. At the ball. After the ball, after they're they've escaped. Yeah. Yeah. So I thought that was one that people wouldn't pick up on. No, that's a good one. And that was funny because they changed their voices a little so that they sounded more like each other. That's funny. When they swap. And then the best line of the entire movie for me. And now I can't remember the sergeant or the captain. The cat the Idris Elba.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I don't know that. I don't know. So I can't remember his character.

SPEAKER_00

I'd have to look it up. But he's talking to Nick and he's like, You have to turn everything into a joke. And Nick goes, Jokes are a common defense mechanism for someone with a traumatic childhood. And he responds, Would you like a traumatic adulthood?

SPEAKER_01

I saw that. I woke up to that scene when I've dozed off watching it because I've watched it. I work nights, and so I was trying to watch it this morning, and I dozed off and I woke up to that scene when he has those glasses on. Yeah. Yeah. Those cool rad is what they are.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. And he stole them out of the pig's the pig's car. Which there you go. He stole them out of the pig's car. Because those were the pigs. Yeah. I thought that was uh that was just a great line. So those were all my great lines.

SPEAKER_01

You had some I don't have any lines, no. Oh, okay. I just had Easter eggs. I didn't write much down. I thought this would just be a discussion. Okay. And you could lead it, and then we could okay. Yeah, because that's all I had, really.

SPEAKER_00

Interesting voices. Stephanie Beatrice, who your favorite Mirabelle.

SPEAKER_01

Who did she play?

SPEAKER_00

She voiced one of the real minor characters. Oh, really? And I can't remember which one. And I'm gonna butcher she's amazing. Alui, Alu, Ailey, Alii Cravalo, who voiced Moana. And I I know I'm butchering that name.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

She had a little minor character. Josh Gadd, who voiced Olaf. He had a minor character.

SPEAKER_01

I didn't know.

SPEAKER_00

And then of course Alan Tudick was in this voicing Duke Weaselton and a bunch of other ones.

SPEAKER_01

I still bat every time I think of her, I think of uh she's the as crazy as the same person played Mirabelle and Rosa on Brooklyn 9.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I know.

SPEAKER_01

It's a it's I can't I don't see it when I watch Brooklyn 99. Not at all. No, it's not Mirabelle. And then Mirabelle's Mirabel's one of the best Disney characters.

SPEAKER_00

And they brought her in to do Louisa in that movie, which is what's funny. Right. And you the Brooklyn 99 character is Louisa.

SPEAKER_01

No, I have I'm gonna have to go watch the conto tonight. Yeah, darn it. We talked about it too much. I get that. Every time someone mentioned the canto three times in one day, I have to watch it. So one of my ticks.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. But yeah. What else you got? Then Moana. So those were all of my little Easter eggs and movie references. Stuff to like really look for. This is one that you can watch multiple times because you're gonna pick up on something.

SPEAKER_01

We already have, and it's not that big a deal.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Some of the movies we've reviewed. Okay, do I want to watch the Santa Claus 2 again?

SPEAKER_00

I mean, oh crap. I should watch it one more time before because it's just it's it wasn't a great plot, but it was a plot-driven movie. Yeah, this is a good movie. This is just it's like you say, 10% plot.

SPEAKER_01

But it's well, it's because it's the plot.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, you know how it's gonna it's gonna end well, and there's gonna be a little twist. Right.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I don't that's not our official tagline of our show, but I use it on everything. Every time I post some other show and they say, Yeah, like why should we? To your show, we're not just a Disney podcast, we're Disney with a twist. Disney tweet. No one knows the reference. No, but it's it tracks, it's true. It is. We're just not we don't do normal things.

SPEAKER_00

It doesn't, but normally literally track.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, normally I think it's a very good movie. I think the voice actors are great in it. I love Andy Sandberg's in it.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, yes.

SPEAKER_01

And when you close your eyes and watch it, like when I was falling asleep, I could I you can totally hear it's Andy Sandberg.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and David Strathern, okay, who I really like. Yeah. And boy, if you don't know who that is, I can't even probably say a movie that like you would recognize. I know he was in like in the Born movies. You would recognize it. Right. He's one of those characters that oh yeah, that guy. Character actor. Yeah. But he he does like the father links.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, some of those character actors and stuff, and they're good in everything.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

There's a I don't know her name, and I think she just passed not too long ago, but she this is way off topic. She starred in she's a star, but she was in Justified. She played the grandma.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. I haven't watched that.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, you haven't watched Justified?

SPEAKER_00

No.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, she was in Americans. She was you haven't watched Americans either?

SPEAKER_00

I haven't watched that one either.

SPEAKER_01

She played a spy. And yeah, she's just great at everything she does. You need to watch shows. I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Justify. Actually, both of those were tempting to watch, but I just haven't gotten around to watching it. So I'm I'm gonna pull it up while I'm sitting here. Pulling up what?

SPEAKER_01

You're gonna see who that is. So yeah, there's lots of character actors like that, and they were usually in, they were usually people that were in, like, I don't think she was ever in the Sopranos, but most of these people were either in Sopranos at some time or The Wire or one of those early HBO shows or Mad Men. Oh, right, yeah. They were all these people were in one of these shows at one time.

SPEAKER_00

It's funny to watch stuff like I don't know, 20 years later. Mary Steenbergen?

SPEAKER_01

No, that's that's Ted Danzen's wife.

SPEAKER_00

Boy, there's a lot of good people in Justified? Yeah, Margot Martindale. Oh, yeah. She's a good one.

SPEAKER_01

She's amazing.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

In everything she's in. Yeah, she really is. Yeah. So she's like a woman, Danny DeVito.

Big Questions For The Franchise

SPEAKER_00

She's a there you go. There's the next Danny DeVito. It'll be Margot Martindale in every movie. Okay, so I've got some questions. We'll end with this. Okay, let's do that.

SPEAKER_01

As I'm about done, see how I time it?

SPEAKER_00

See, but I slowed down. You got me to slow down my drink. And now you can enjoy more.

SPEAKER_01

Oh no, I got we're not.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, wet the whistle here. Do we need Zootopia lands in the parks?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, definitely. I think we've talked about this a lot.

SPEAKER_00

We have.

SPEAKER_01

Then this comes up every time we talk about a part that's not themed one way.

SPEAKER_00

Where there's a Zootopia land involved. Where's M Monsters Inc. land, or that where Monsters Inc. is in DCA. And they were gonna put Avatar in there. And I don't think they are anymore. Maybe they will do, maybe they will do Zootopia. I think because it's got the monorail going through it. Right now it's got the umph of the how big it is right now. Yeah, I think that is the perfect place for today. And there needs a new we do, we have a new CEO today. Oh Bob Iger, he voiced Bob Tiger.

SPEAKER_01

Robert Tiger and the Steve Irwin reference at the end.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, the student. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Because that was his son. His son voiced that the koala bear. Four thumbs up. Yeah. So yeah, we need a full on each coast of Zootopia land. I think it would be a great. There's a lot of good IP there.

SPEAKER_01

I need to watch a walkthrough of Shanghai and see how it really looks. Oh, that'd be good. See how much we would like it. Yeah. How it translates, but I think it would translate well with the skyline. I think so. It sounds amazing.

SPEAKER_00

So there is going to be a Zootopia 3. Yes. Bird feather on the end credit. Right. What do you think?

SPEAKER_01

And it said didn't it say something like birds are real or something like that? Didn't it say it during the movie?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, they're going to introduce birds. Right.

SPEAKER_01

Because there are no birds in the I think someone said birds are real or it said on a sign during the movie. I think I heard I think someone told me that at work. Okay. I was talking to someone about the movie this week, and they said I didn't see it either. I just heard it. So it might not be true.

SPEAKER_00

And that's interesting because, like in the first one, I didn't pick up that there were no reptiles or didn't even think about it. I don't think that or amphibians or anything like that. I didn't pick up on it. No. And watched two of them, didn't realize that there were no birds. So little bird related.

SPEAKER_01

New huge adventure.

SPEAKER_00

But I should rather wonder if they'll go after bellwether in Australia.

SPEAKER_01

Oh.

SPEAKER_00

Potential. Nick and Judy, are they hooking up?

SPEAKER_01

I I thought about this at the end. I thought they're not actually going to say they love each other, are they? Like that.

SPEAKER_00

And I think, but so they keep hinting like at the chemistry. Like they could become a couple, an actual couple. I don't think they they will, but I think they're going to exploit that because there were lots of references.

SPEAKER_01

I think they will go around it, right? I think they will like the early salmon diane days because I'm going to bring up cheers again.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah, there you go.

SPEAKER_01

Well, that's and that's what I was saying. Right. It's going to be the early Sam and Diane thing. Will they get together or won't they?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Or probably won't. Jim and Pam type of thing from the office. Right. Which they eventually got together, but they it used to be that if the that tension made for a great sitcom.

SPEAKER_01

That's what that's the Sam and Diane. That was the big one because there was the tension. They hated each other and they liked each other so much.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. They argue like crazy. And then it goes stagnant when they get together. So they had to kick Diane off the show and bring in Kirsty Alley. Yeah, she got too big for her britches, too. And that too. Right. But like she had to go star in that Troop Beverly Hills. Troop Beverly Hills, I know. And Death Becomes Her. But she in that one, I don't know. She was in a lot of crap. Sorry, Shelly Long. Sorry, Shelly Long.

SPEAKER_01

You're an amazing Diane.

SPEAKER_00

You know what? If you want career redemption, go stand star in something with Danny DeVito. I'm just going to say it right now.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. His wife was there.

SPEAKER_00

Go be.

SPEAKER_01

See, her greatest thing was with Danny DeVito's wife. Right.

SPEAKER_00

I think they're going to keep playing that up. There were, but there were a lot of references. Like they're going up to the honeymoon hotel. I know so many. So many there that make them seem like they're a couple. That they're going undercover as a husband and wife with their baby.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

Who's a fox that is a cross between the two of them?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's a great storyline. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You gotta exploit it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Because I'm thought of another great one. Remember, remember Moonlighting? Oh, yeah. Moonlighting was a good one, too. Yeah, that was a great back.

SPEAKER_00

Who's the boss? Who's the boss? And that one crashed and burned once they got together. So they'll never get together.

SPEAKER_01

But that cheers scene where they slapped each other a billion times. Yeah. Do you remember that scene? Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Good stuff. Coming up, our cheers podcast. Our cheers to ears podcast. Yeah, cheers to ears. It tracks. Yes. I'm mentioning cheers a million times.

SPEAKER_00

Cheers to ears about cheers. Okay. So anyway.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Any more questions? Was that the last one?

SPEAKER_00

Was that your Cheers ABC?

SPEAKER_01

Maybe it was CBS. I don't know. I have to look that up again. Yeah, I have to look that up. I don't remember what channel it was on as a kid.

SPEAKER_00

ABC.

SPEAKER_01

It's Disney.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's it is Disney. But it's not the idea.

SPEAKER_01

It's on who it's on Hulu.

SPEAKER_00

See, if it's on Hulu, there's an ABC.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I don't know. I don't remember what streaming service is on.

SPEAKER_00

We will have to look that up. But there were and I it was at the end that I thought, oh, I should have been writing down all these references about them that alluded to them potentially being a couple. Because there were a bunch.

SPEAKER_01

And these are all available online.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. From a billion different people. Oh, exactly.

SPEAKER_01

We're just touching on it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. They just it's a they're good characters together.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

Ratings And Where To Find Us

SPEAKER_00

They really are. It's for a buddy cop movie. It's a good buddy cop movie. Yeah, I think we give it high rate. They wrote in good chemistry.

SPEAKER_01

So I think we should rank it. Right? Okay. Let's rank it. So put both your thumbs up. Put both your thumbs up. We give it four thumbs up.

SPEAKER_00

Four thumbs up. So now did you like this one? This we have you like this one more than the first one?

SPEAKER_01

I'd have to watch the first one like that to really say what I liked better, but I might have liked the first one a little more. All around. I think I like this one. Yeah. I don't know if I like this one because it's new. And I just watched it for the first time. And I've watched it a few times. Because I haven't watched Zootopia for a while. Probably not since we did the episode last year or the year. It was a while.

SPEAKER_00

No, we've never done a Zootopia.

SPEAKER_01

We did a Zootopia, the movie. It was one of our first episodes, I think.

SPEAKER_00

No, we did Frozen and I don't think we did.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, we'll track that up.

SPEAKER_00

Because we talked, I think we've got to do it. We'll look that up. We'll have to look that up.

SPEAKER_01

It's on Spotify. You can find it. You can find the any all of our episodes on all of your favorite streaming services, podcast services. Sometimes on YouTube. We're still trying to figure out YouTube. I posted an episode today. Did you? Yeah. It was a we didn't have there was hardly any editing I had to do, so it was really easy.

SPEAKER_00

With a cold brew martini. Oh, that was a good one. That was a good one. Ooh. So I liked it. I actually liked this because it had all the little gags in it.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

Now I want to go back and watch the first one and see if that had as many. It might. But I think I like the cold brew martini a little more than this drink. But this was a great drink. This is a good drink. They're different drinks. Yeah. Fully different drink. King Himalayan from Yak and Yeti. Yak and Yeti. So if you could go on, subscribe, follow, Heart, do all those type of things, leave a comment. That would be great. That'd be great. Reach out to us at Cheers, the number two, Ears the number one, at Outlook.com. Send us an idea for a show that you want to hear us make weird references to. That'd be amazing. That'd be great.
